Q&A: Engaging Project Stakeholders

Stakeholder involvement is critical to most projects in mission-driven organizations. The key to continued engagement is good communication planning.

Identify your stakeholders and plan for communication very early in the project. What do your stakeholders need to know (or do) about the project and when and how will they know it?

Create opportunities to update stakeholders on project progress and for them to provide feedback on planning and outcomes.

And at each phase of your project, review your communication plan and consider whether there are additional opportunities for engagement.
